Leland R. Lee II
January 21, 1953 – June 10, 2021
Leland R. Lee ll passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021. He was the son of the late Leland R. and Charlotte Lee of Norfolk.
Bob’s friends knew him as “Bob Lee”. Bob was a well-known angler throughout the Tidewater area and longtime member of the Portsmouth Angler’s club. He was considered a master angler who received many dozen trophies and fish citations and was able catch most of the game fish that swim in the waters of Virginia. Bob Lee will be remembered as one who never backed down from an altercation. He was feisty and quick to protect family and friends. His love of friends and fishing is only surpassed by his love for the Lord and for his family.
He leaves behind his daughter, Alexis Mullen (Bruce); granddaughter, Leah; sister, Charlotte Hitchcock (Doug); nephew, Tyler Kolmetz; cousins, Larry Farmer and Sonny Farmer.
There will be no funeral service, however, Bob’s friends are encouraged to get together and tell “fish stories”. He will be missed. Any donations should be sent to the Dementia Society of America.
I only knew Bob when I was growing up in Elizabeth Park between ages of 5yr to 16years old. Bob was about 5 or 6 years older than I was. he was like a big brother to me, He would let me help him deliver newspapers sometimes and when I was old enough{11} he let me take over his paper route. My first job. I loved playing the pinball machine in his garage at his parents house. Bob loved working on cars and motorcycles and I loved watching, probably bugging him, but he would always make me feel welcome. I credit him with my lifelong passion of working on and building cars/hotrods. I remember Bob had a Kawasaki Mach 3, 500 motorcycle that screamed and he rode it like he was” Evel Knievel. I only knew him for 10 years or so, ,when i was a little kid, but he left a lasting impact on my life and I am proud to say that! Even though I haven’t seen him in 40 years or so, I am sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his friends and family.
