Linda L. Hobbs

December 24, 1950 – July 18, 2022

Linda Linell Cousin Hobbs was born on December 24, 1950 in Crewe, Virginia to the late John Cousin and late Essie L. Cousin of Crewe, Virginia and entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Manor Care Nursing Facility in Richmond, Virginia.

Linda resided in Victoria, Virginia, formerly of Crewe, Virginia, Landover Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Richmond, Virginia. Linda attended Ingleside Elementary School in Burkeville, Virginia. She graduated from Luther H. Foster High School in Nottoway County, Virginia, class of 1969. She was married to the late Dennis Sylvester Hobbs, Sr. in 1969. The two shared 29 years together. Out of this union, she birthed two children, Pastor La’ Trina McCutchen and the late Dennis Nathan Hobbs, Jr., who were her pride and joy.

Linda loved spending time with family, especially during family gatherings on holidays and special occasions. She loved going shopping, she loved spoiling her grandchildren and her great-grandson. She worked on puzzles, she loved driving almost anything with wheels. She loved cooking and she loved a Bid Whist card playing marathon! Linda loved cleaning, and she kept an immaculately clean home. Her favorite Television shows were “Cops” and “Law and Order.” She also loved to watch talk shows. Linda was a number one supporter of the Breakthrough Prayer & Power Line Live Global Network where she participated five days a week for four years.

Linda accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age and she was baptized at First Nottoway Baptist Church. She loved going to church and she participated in church activities. Mom attended several churches in the Richmond area, Mt.Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Word Of God Fellowship, and Destiny Center Live Church. Her favorite football team is the Washington Commanders, formerly known as Washington Redskins. Linda had a genuine love for cats. She is a Queen as she has been crowned before in pageants while attending High School.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted daughter, Pastor La’ Trina Denise McCutchen; one son-in-law, Pastor Richard McCutchen; five loving grandchildren, Johnathan Hilliard, Josh’ua McCutchen, An’gel McCutchen, Chris’Tian McCutchen, and Da’Miyah Hobbs; and one great-grandson, Amir Hilliard; six protective brothers, John Cousin, Edward Cousin (Kathy), Aubrey Cousin (Andrienette), Ricardo, Pastor Dr. Darryl Cousin (Associate Pastor Dr. Sandra Cousin) and  James Hayes; and four beloved brothers, Anthony Cason, Anthony Rose (Linell), Albert Giles (Antoinette), and Orbin Woodley (Katina); three beloved sisters, Sarah Jennings, Nathilda Lewis, and Holly Giles. She maintained a special friendship with her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Farrar, Veronica Henson, and beloved sister-in-law, Margaret Cousin; two brothers-in-law, James Henry Hobbs lll, and the late Larry Hobbs; one beloved niece, caregiver, Natasha Jesters; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives who loved her deeply.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA  23294.  A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 29 at the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be at a later date at Amelia Veterans Cemetery.
