Lisa Carter Atkinson, 60, of Henrico County passed away Friday, August 18, 2023.
Lisa was born in Richmond and was a graduate of J.R. Tucker High School. She was a wonderful and loving mother to her two sons and wife to her husband. Lisa was always looking to lend an ear and help anyone in need. She spent over 30 years working in various positions in the local Richmond Real Estate Market.
Lisa is survived by her father, Sammy Carter, and his wife Sandra; her mother, Betty Fallin, and her husband Wayne; her husband of 33 years, Wanye Atkinson; and their two sons, Carter and Brendan; her brother, John Carter, and his wife, Lee and their two daughters, Sydney and Erin; her sister, Tracey and her husband, Rob Roland; and their two daughters, Ainslie Roland and Laralin Worsham and her husband, Rives and their daughter Lainey; brother-in-law Neal Atkinson and his wife, Wendy and their daughter Dr. Kathleen Matthews and her husband, Dave and their son Isaac; mother-in-law, Shirley Harris; two step-brothers, Randy Greene, and Shane Carter; and many additional extended family and friends.
As a member of NAMI Virginia, she was able to use their resources not only for herself but for her to help others as well. As a mental health advocate, she was able to use her spare time to try and help her friends and family as well as herself.
Even though the last few years were a hard-fought battle for her, she always had time to help others and her influence is going to be very much missed.

Lisa, you and I were shears cracking up about something. Going to miss that sense of humor and infectious laugh. Rest well.

Lisa was a beautiful and loving soul. Her smile would light up a room,. Her kind heart was always open to others. She will be missed by many… My thoughts and prayers are with her family, her friends and loved ones at this time.
