Lloyd Anthony York known to many as “Faces”, “Batch” or “Doggie” was born in Scarborough, Tobago on July 24, 1956. He passed away peacefully at home in Richmond, Virginia on August 29, 2023.
He was born to and preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester York and Jean York; his brother, Nick York; and his sister, Christie Robley.
Lloyd attended Goodwood Methodist in Tobago. He also attended Independent College and Hope Farm School in Tobago. He met his wife, Lynette Carol McDonald York, and they got married on August 5, 1989. Lloyd was a loving father to his children, Kamisha Manswell Ellis, Chinelle York, Kizzy-Ann York, Nikeya York, and Lloyd Cashife York.
Lloyd was a Laborer for the Ministry of Works in his adult life when residing in Tobago. He relocated to the United States in 2009 and lived in Richmond, Virginia where he worked as a Forklift Driver. Lloyd loved to fish, horse racing, and listening to and playing music. He was also a great handyman fixing and painting things around the house.
He leaves to cherish his wife, Lynette Carol McDonald York; his children, Kamisha Manswell Ellis (Cervin), Chinelle York, Kizzy-Ann York, Nikeya York, and Lloyd Cashife York; his siblings, Claudia Cornwall (Russell) and Jude Lewis (Alwyn); sister in laws, Jeanette McDonald and Maylene McDonald; six grandsons; along with a host of nieces and nephews
A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, with a service at 3 p.m. at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294.

My condolences to my niece Kamisha and the entire family. I have fond memories of spending fun-filled summers in Tobago with a whole village of family and friends of which Lloyd and his wife Carol were a part. I pray that such memories of a life well lived will also give the family some peace at this difficult time.
