June 14, 1932-July 29, 2019
Lucille Hembrick was born to the late Louis and Bernice Norris on June 14, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband James Hembrick and sister Florence Moseley. The Lord called Lucille home on Monday July 29, 2019.
Lucille was educated in the Chesterfield County Public School Systems; she graduated from Carver High School. She then went and obtained a certificate in Food Nutrition and dedicated her service to feeding those at MCV Hospital where she worked diligently for over forty years and retired at the age of 62. She also encouraged all of her children to pursue their education and all of them went to college. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She would remain a faithful and diligent member until her health begin to fail. She was a member of the Senior Choir and she was involved with Age Thru Action Ministry.
She used her love of cooking to minister to her family and those in the community. She loved to spend time with her family especially her sister the late Florence Moseley. They would go out and shop and eat together. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was married to James Hembrick where they were blessed to be in love for 44 years.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter and two sons, Gloridene “Dena” (Johnny) Chouquette, Bruce (Jean), and Donald; five grandchildren Peter, Ashley, Brittany, Atyanna (Robert) and Samuel; and one great granddaughter Anaya; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers; a donation be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chesterfield VA
