Obituary message
Margaret (Pearl) Pollard Crowley passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long struggle with Alzheimers and complications thereof. She was born in Boyle, Co. Roscommon, Ireland and had a wonderful childhood there. In the late 1950’s she emigrated to London where she worked for many years and met her future husband John Crowley. They returned to Ireland in the 1960’s and adopted two children Kenneth & Fiona. Later on in life Pearl returned to the UK and eventually came to live in the USA with her daughter Fiona, son-in-law Tom and three grandchildren, Rory, Sarah & Daniel for her last eight years in this life. Although she struggled with the confusion of Alzheimers she remained gentle & kind spirited to the end. She was a wonderful mother, wife, aunt & friend and especially a gentle & loving grandmother as she always adored children. She could never resist stopping to say hello to a baby or small child with a twinkle in her eyes. Pearl never spoke ill of anyone or acted in an unkind way; she simply wasn’t capable of it. Everyone who met her was struck by her elegance and lady like manner. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, her sister in law Maisie & all the family, and especially by her immediate loved ones. Thanks to the Tapp Family home, Martha, Lana & all the staff for loving her in her last few weeks. A funeral mass will be held at a later date in Ireland. In her memory please be kind to each other & always be aware that someone may be suffering with Alzheimers so be understanding & gentle.

I have only just heard this very sad news, so sorry to learn about the passing of a lovely lady who always had a welcoming smile (and delicious Sunday dinner) for me in Dublin when I was a student back in the 1980s. It was a great privilege to know the Crowley family in Castleknock, so many happy memories. My deepest condolences to Fiona and Ken.
