Marguerite Jenkins Williams, 86, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Lakewood Retirement Community located in Richmond, VA.
Marguerite served the Lord throughout her entire life and had a significant spiritual impact on many people. She first served as a Sunday School teacher at age sixteen, and she continued to lead Bible studies into her early eighties. Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Linda (Mark); sons, Bruce (Melissa) and Stan; brothers, Jim and Bill; grandchildren, Jonathan (Katie), Kristin, Morgan (CJ), Jaclyn (David), Christian, Michael, Skyler, Joshua, and Trinity; and great-grandchildren, Liam, Jon, Ellie, Caroline, Austin, and Zoey. She was preceded in death by husband, Sidney; daughter, Karen; parents, Claude and Mary; and brother, Murdoch.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Ferry Farm Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA. The service will also be shared via live stream at FerryfarmBC.org. Burial will be private at Quantico National Cemetery at a later date.
She will be missed by her family and friends worldwide.
Memorials may be made to Lakewood Employee Crisis Fund c/o Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation, 3961 Stillman Parkway, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or Ferry Farm Baptist Church, 1 Westmoreland Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
This is a lovely tribute. Will miss doing puzzles and playing scrabble with her. She never let Papa and I get away with any “creative” spellings. I will tell Zoey all about Grandma’s puppet shows.
My sister and I shared a long and loving bond. She watched over me as a child and never let the love fade. My visits always brought a smile to her face. When I go home to meet the Lord that same smile will be waiting. Go with God. Love always, brother Bill.
My dear aunt Marguerite ❤ What a beautiful picture to remember you by. Some of my fondest memories are waking up in front of your house in our van for vacation. Dancing in the basement, playing croquet in the back yard, catching fireflies and you taking us around to the historic sites in Virginia and Washington DC. Thank you for being such a great big sister to my dad and always caring for him and our family. You are now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Please give uncle Sid and Karen a big hug from me.

With all my love,

Marguerite ,
I never really could understand the depth of your love and devotion to your missionary work in Africa . I was always concerned for your safety . But when you came to Lakeland one Sunday to the Southside Baptist Church where you gave a lecture and testimonial about your calling in doing missionary work .I was so deeply moved by the love and devotion you showed that I said to myself, God has truly blessed my sister and that I would never again doubt your purpose in life . I know that our Lord was waiting with open arms to receive you , a faithful and loving servant . A open letter to my sister. Love Jim
God Bless you Aunt Marguerite!
