Maria Guadalupe Morford

June 20, 1953 – May 21, 2024

Our dear mother Maria Guadalupe Morford, from Alberta Virginia sadly passed away on May 21, 2024,  at the age of 70.

Maria or as many knew her as “Lupe” was born in Torreón Coah., Mexico, on June 20, 1953, and moved at a young age to Juarez, Mexico where she grew up with her seven siblings.  She grew up working a full-time job at a young age and put herself through school. Lupe became a successful seamstress and was recognized with the greatest award of achievement for her beautiful detailed work. She is leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the church in El Paso, Texas, and continued to attend church when she moved to Virginia to be closer to family. She was strong in her faith a prayer warrior who loved to pray over everyones lives and brought many to believe in Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fidel Flores Morales; her mother, Rafaela Garcia Flores; her beloved husband, Michael E Morford; brothers, Pedro Javier Flores Garcia and Fidel Flores Garcia; nephew Francisco Javier Flores Guerrero; and brother-in-law, Dagoberto Gonzalez.

She leaves behind three children, Michael (Veronica) Morford and children Andrea, Michael, Francisco, Isaac, and David from California, Ruth (Steve) Corum and children Sarah, Noah, Leah from Virginia, Daniel (Amber) Morford and children Symphony, Ambrosia, Sakura from Texas; her brothers and sisters Alejandro (Ofelia) Flores, Fernando (Leonor) Flores, Daniel (Rosa) Flores, Martha Gonzalez, Elvira (William) Monge; and many loving nieces and nephews and countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date with close friends and family.
