Mary Lou Kanary, 89, of North Chesterfield, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Kanary, Sr., and her sister, Blanche B. Tyler. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn D. Taylor (Jeffery), Deborah H. Wright (Paul), Lisa G. Williams (Greg); son, Samuel E. Kanary Jr.; grandchildren, Richard C. Trent III, Christopher B. Taylor, Clarence G. Wright, Jordyn Williams, and Rayna Williams; great-grandchildren, Andrew L. Hagan and Nora Paige Wright; and sister, Dorothy Castle;

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at Maury Cemetery, 2700 Maury Street, Richmond, VA 23224.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.

      That was a very happy day for all of us! Thank you Mom and Pop for all the love and support throughout the years! Always including mom and showing love to her! I will be forever grateful and thankful! I love you both very much ❤️

    I’ll always remember you.! We were neighbors a long time. We would take walks with muffin. You always would dress to the hilt. I’ll miss you.

    My beautiful mother! We miss you so very much! I hope you are with dad and you both are shining like a diamond above!
    I know in my heart that you are welcome in the arms of Jesus into heaven and he had your mom, dad, your sister Blanche and all your loved ones who passed before you waiting to embrace you! I will forever be grateful for all your sacrifices that you did for me! I can’t believe your gone, but I am at peace that your no longer suffering with confusion that the dementia had left you in these past years! I love you momma so very much ❤️
