Matthew Alan Jenks, 49, of Mechanicsville passed away Saturday April 11, 2020.
Matthew entered into this world on 18 October 1970 in Canandaigua, New York and was the eldest Son of two loving parents, Sharon & Alan Jenks. Matthew enthusiastically joined the United States Army deploying to Somalia and Sinai Peninsula as part of humanitarian and peace keeping missions. Matthew lived life to the fullest and was a kind-hearted and selfless man, always thinking of others and how he could help them with life’s challenges.
Matthew is survived by: His Mother, Sharon M. D’Amore Father, Alan I. Jenks Brother, Brandon Jenks Sister, Haley Jenks, Step Mother, Susan Jenks Step Father, John D’ Amore, Brother-in-law Kevin LaTourette, Nieces, Jessica Jenks and Cora LaTourette as well as several other loving family members.
Matthew’s family, friends, and brothers in arms will forever miss his smiling face and sense of humor. A loving family and grateful Nation salutes Matthew for his service to our country and the love he showed us all.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, October 30, 2020 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery of Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA

Matthew was one of my best friends. We laughed together on many occasions. He will be missed dearly.
