Maureen was an extraordinary person.
She is the love of my life.
She is my inspiration.
She enjoyed life as she wanted…her way.
She’s was a strong, caring, loving mother, grandmother, wife and teacher.
And at the end of this wonderful life, Maureen acknowledged that she was ready to move on to heaven and asked that we honor her will to go quietly.
Maureen and I met at college in Oswego, NY and never looked back. We were married in 1979 and shared the next 41 wonderful years together. After college we set out on an adventure in search of new opportunities. Leaving NY, we lived in State College, PA, St Louis, MO, Springfield, IL, and Peoria, IL where we settled down and raised our family in our 20 years there. Maureen taught elementary school for a few years along the way before retiring to raise our family.
In 2000 the adventure continued with our move to Richmond, VA. Our children, Michael, Karen and Patrick, completed school and college and continued their lives in Richmond. Michael and Brittany have given us love and three wonderful grandchildren, Mr. Carter, Ms. Lucy and Ms. Molly. Patrick and Nikki give us much joy and love with much more to come.
In 2019, our beautiful daughter, Karen, left us for heaven. We think of her always and now Maureen has gone to be with Karen. Maureen and Karen are terribly missed however they are with us in spirit now and forever. We will be with them again one day.
Maureen enjoyed so much in life. Our early adventures in college and relocating to the Midwest, the birth of our children, hockey with Michael and Patrick, movies and crafts with Karen, gardening and outdoor activities, remodeling our homes, refinishing old and antique furniture, yard sales, collecting stuff, summers at the rivers and at the beach, seasonal festivals, and of course everything with her children and grandchildren.
Everything Maureen did, all the little things and all the big things, she did for the love of her family. She never ceased to surprise us and these memories of her are cherished forever. Maureen loved Carter, Lucy and Molly so much and lived every day of her long battle with cancer to spend time with them.
Karen helped plan our Bisha family trip to Disney World in 2019. Maureen and Karen were so excited to go to Disney with everyone, especially “the kids” as Karen called them. But God had other plans and took Karen to heaven before our trip. Maureen and most of our family (Patrick was not able to join us this time) went to Disney as planned…..Karen was already there, with us in spirit.
Maureen fought a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed in early 2016, she vowed to “fight this to the last drop”. And she did.
Maureen, now that you have moved on to heaven, know that we miss you dearly and we pray that we will see you again one day. Until then you are in our thoughts and prayers always.
With all the love we have.
Bob
To my cousin Bob and family,

Thank you so much Carol. We do not see each other much (ever) these days but I really appreciate your kind words.
Would you please share with other Deneen family who may not have seen this?
Love, Bob
Bob and Family, our deepest sympathy and condolences. Our prayers are that God will give you and the family comfort and peace along with the promise you will be reunited one day. Dan and Alice
Mom, you were the toughest most determined fighter there was. You always lived life your way and I love you for it.
To the Bisha Family, You only know me as a Monroe (SEAPCO) staff member, that took Karen under my wing, and tried to care for her in a very caring and loving way. I was her one on one assistant from 5-8 grade. Karen, my daughter, and I went shopping in November every year to celebrate our birthdays, and shopped for Lucy stuff. She always held a special place in my heart. I was so happy to reconnect with her on FB a few years ago. I was so honored that Maureen kept me up to date about Karen those last few weeks. I felt so happy to have shared some of her adult years with her. Maureen and Brittney always shared with me about Karen. I know Maureen was one of the toughest fighters I know, and she and Karen are up in Heaven doing mother/daughter things again without pain. I miss you both. May GOD wrap his loving arms around you all….. GOD Bless you all. Wendy (Mason) Kaiser
