Obituary message
Goodwin, Michael Henry, son of the late Henry and Medra Goodwin of Richmond, passed away at age 66 on March 10, 2016.
“Mike” was a husband of 45 years to Barbara Goodwin; father to Michelle Goodwin Cherry and Jennifer Goodwin Healy; and brother to Dennis Goodwin, Ann Goodwin Walker, and the late Jimmy Goodwin.
Mike was a graduate of John Marshall High School, attended VCU, and ran his own business for over 30 years. Mike and Barbara enjoyed working together on renovations and investment properties, and teaching their girls to appreciate good design, technology and to have a “passion for quality real estate.”
Mike was a beloved husband and partner, cherished father, and devoted brother and friend. Always the first to crack a joke, he never failed to make those around him laugh. His charismatic nature and engaging smile made friends of everyone. His memory will live to infinity and beyond.
Mike was a true friend, also for 56 years. He was smart, funny, and had a great business mind. However, i will remember his unselfishness and caring heart most of all. It seemed like every time I had a life crisis he and Barb would always show up. I will miss you Bro. Dal

Barbara and your family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. Mike was a central part of our group of friends as we grew up in Ginter Park. I met Mike when we were 12 years old. We went to school from Jr. High through college. Outside of school there are too many memories to list. (weekends, work, music, growing up, cars, fishing, Va. Beach, etc.) We could always count on Mike to have something going on. Mike was a great friend to have during those years. He had deep and sincere thoughts about relationships and life, and always sought to do the right thing. We had many deep discussions about life, but we also had a lot of fun. Thanks for the memories and inspirations.See you when I get to heaven.Michael Francisco

We were so shocked to hear the news today. about Mike. Please know that you and the girls are in our thoughts.
Dear Barbie~It seems like a lifetime since we were all together at VCU. Whenever I think of Mike, I remember how passionately he loved you, how adoring he was of you, how you made him smile.
I can’t imagine the enormity of your loss and I pray that these years since his passing have been made easier by the love and support of your family and friends.
May Mike Rest In Peace and may his memory be a blessing to you always. With love and sympathy – Beth and Johnny Mirmelstein
