Millie Sullenberger Beverage

July 25, 1928 – January 21, 2023

Millie Sullenberger Beverage, 94, of Richmond, VA, and Henderson, N.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Henderson, N.C.   

Millie was born in Monterey, VA on July 25, 1928, to the late Samuel Scott Sullenberger and Mabel Elizabeth Herold Sullenberger.  She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 70 years, Charles Byron Beverage, 95, who had been her heavenly angel since March 19, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sue Scott Sullenberger. 

Millie grew up in Monterey, VA and graduated from Monterey High School, and attended Mary Washington College. Millie and Charlie lived in Richmond, VA for more than 60 years. She was a homemaker, avid reader, and wonderful cookie maker. Her family and friends will forever remember her as sweet, thoughtful, and kind.

Millie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Wednesday Bible Study, and Circle 2 and 9.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Beverage Falkner, and husband, Henry of Henderson, NC; two sons, Charles Byron Beverage, Jr.and wife, Karen of Richmond, VA, and Luther Scott Beverage and wife, Jennie of Monterey, VA; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Millie and Charlie will be held at a later date at Monterey Cemetery, Monterey, VA.
