Monica Jones

September 17, 1963 – January 12, 2022

Monica Jones, of Richmond, went to live amongst the angels on January 12, 2022, at the age of 58.

Monica was a bright, bubbly soul who never knew a stranger. She could light up a room with her goofy sense of humor and witty sarcasm. She had a passion for all things beautiful and often expressed this through art and creativity. She loved to cook and found so much joy in bringing people together with her culinary creations. Above all, she was a doting grandmother who cherished her two grandchildren with all of her heart.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Helga and Stuart Watson; her daughter and son-in-law, Heather Jones and Andrew Weis; her beloved grandchildren, Jaxson Weis and Freya Weis; her sister-in-law, Jessie Miller; and a great deal of revered friends and colleagues.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Miller.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy Richmond VA, 23294

In honor of Monica’s love for all things “artsy”, donations may be made at https://artonwheels-va.org/give to Art on Wheels, an organization in Richmond, VA that brings a creative experience to communities with limited access to art.

I loved Monica, yes so funny and sweet. I can hear her voice now much like Heathers voice. I remember Monica coming to visit pre Heather. She bought a โ€œbaby in a boxโ€ It was, a baby doll in a box . Monica would stick her hand up in the box to make baby move and talk. She had all of us laughing so hard. Loved her funny personality.
