
Nira Comer Wade
November 20, 1933 – April 13, 2022
Nira Ann Comer Wade, 88, of Chester, VA passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 13, 2022.
Nira was born and raised in Virgilina, Halifax County, VA. Nira loved God and her family, she was an extraordinarily talented homemaker. Every meal was delicious, and every party or holiday celebration was an event to be remembered. Nothing delighted her more than children, and she was fortunate to spend a good deal of time with her granddaughters, which brought her so much joy. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her husband and family, her magical way with children and the countless clothing and decorative items she sewed or otherwise crafted by hand for over 70 years.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Berley E. Wade; son, Michael R. Wade (Dawn); daughters, Suzanne Jara-Almonte (Carlos) and Sarah Simmons (Chris); sister, Carolyn C. Lawson (William) of Midlothian; and five beloved granddaughters, Kristen, Lauren, Madelynn, Samantha, and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Z. and Lizzie W. Comer; son, Charles E. Wade; brother, Cralle Z. Comer; and sisters, Alberdine C. Gaston and Evelyn C. Newcomb.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers who eased Nira’s suffering, especially Bon Secours Hospice and Hospice House for their many months of loving care for Nira and the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bon Secours Hospice House or Samaritan’s Purse.
A Celebration of Life is planned for family and friends at the family home from 1:00 to 4:00p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
Thank you dear GOD for letting Nira be my loving friend. God is watching over her now and all is well! Nira was my Sister and I loved talking to her. May the family be surrounded by her loving God and friends. Stuart Layne
I’m so sorry to hear of my dear friend’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of our good times together. And such good memories of our times of enjoyable times with your sweet Dad.i think of her so often looking across the street at their former house
