So sad to hear of Norman passing. I shared many a great time with him at BRANA and ABPA conventions and get-togethers over the year. He and Howard Hicks Sr. became my partners in exploring local haunts. Always lots of laughs and great war stories. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. May he RIP.
My condolences to the family. Norman was a super great guy and a true friend. I as well as many others will greatly miss him. TK Hughes
So sorry to learn of Norm’s passing. We had so many fun times with him and BJ – the neighborhood won’t be the same without him.
Our sincere condolences . Ron & Carmel
A life taken to soon! Words cannot express how precious this man was to so many people. I was so lucky to have him in my life as a true friend, the many times we shared together on the golf course, playing cards, just hanging together, he was a mans man also a wonderful husband and father and entrepreneur that treated all his employees like family. He helped anyone and everyone that was in need of anything. My heart goes out to his beautiful wife BJ , I was so happy the day I introduced her to him and I knew seeing the sparkle in his eye they would spend many happy years together. My deepest heartfelt condolences to you BJ in losing such a wonderful husband, may he Rest In Peace…. love you Norman and hope to meet up with you again

So very sorry to hear of Norman’s passing. He was a super person and friend. Condolences and prayers to the family for your loss. Rest in peace my friend.
Norman was a great friend, a generous spirit and a savvy entrepreneur with the highest standards for treating others with respect. He was modest, never having forgotten his humble beginnings as he achieved remarkable success in building and eventually selling Richmond/Tidewater Bumper Service. He cared a great deal about the employees that helped him build his business and he lived by the golden rule, regardless of your station in life.
Norman had a great sense of humor and often carried a light demeanor despite having navigated many of life’s tragedies. He was a good man with a big heart. In some ways, Norman retained the innocence and charm of a child, having collected figurines of clowns and carnivals for many years. He understood life is often cut far too short and he felt he had a full life. I know he touched the lives of many in a meaningful and lasting way.
I’ll always cherish our friendship, the fun times we had together and I’ll hold the memories of his smiling face with me for the rest of my life. Lauren and I feel we’ve lost a family member because his friendship meant so much. We’ve grown close to you BJ and we look forward to making more memories in the precious years to come.
One of my saddest days, Norman was one of my best friends and he will be missed every day. We had a lot of fun on golf trips, at dinner and just wasting time. Bj, Norman told me on June 17th, the pain of the thought of death was nothing compared to the pain of knowing he would not spend 30 more years with you, the love of his life.
Ted – how wonderful of you for telling me. We loved each other so much & spent wonderful years together. I was so lucky to have found him. He was a great husband & partner. He was the “love of my life”. Thanks again.
BJ, there are no words to express your loss. I am so sorry. Norman was a kind loving man who definitely had the determination to do everything in his earthly power to convince you of his love. I’m so happy he succeeded and that you two had a beautiful life together. Hugs of love.

B J, I know Norman had many admiring friends, and I am proud to have been one of them. My deepest sympathy. Jim Hogge
Thanks so much Jim. He always liked you!! I’ll miss him so much!
Stormin Norman. It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 weeks since my best friend passed away. I wake up everyday thinking that it’s not real. I miss my everyday calls to yell at me for something. Not a day has gone by that I don’t remember all the things he taught me about life. I wouldn’t be where I am today as well as many others because of Norman. Even though he is gone I will always have the memories that we made and some of the best stories about him that he never wanted me to tell. I know that he will be truly missed by all his friends and family. I just hope that heaven is ready for him and his OCD ways. RIP my friend.
Great tribute. I want to hear some of those stories. He was as crazy as he was smart!! Best 20 years of my life, I wish he was still here everyday. Loved him so much.
BJ, Norman was larger than life to me. When we were all in town he would have us all laughing. So many wonderful memories! My cousins who never never let anyone down. He was always helping the family when they were in need. We will miss that smile. Taken way to soon. May you rest in peace my dear cousin. BJ our hearts go out to you.
I am in shock at the passing of one of my dearest friends. To know Norman was to love him. He was a straight shooter, and told it like it was. He was also very sensitive. When my dog Sophie had to have her eye removed last year, he had tears in his eyes. I will miss this guy, with his bigger than life personality. I grieve for BJ, as she mourns the loss of her best friend, and husband. I take comfort in knowing that Norman is now in God’s hands.
