Pamela Reams Wooton, 69, after a brief illness, went to be with her Lord and Savior, peacefully at her home in Midlothian, Virginia, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 9, 2024.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Wooton; daughter, Andrea Nelson (Bill); son, Ryan Wooton (Samantha); two granddaughters, Olivia Wooton and Aleah Fleetwood; and brother, Rick Reams.
Born the daughter of Frances and Dick Reams in Lynchburg, Virginia. Pam graduated from Brookville High School in 1972. She attended Central Virginia Community College and later graduated from Virginia Baptist School of Nursing in 1976. Following graduation, she began her nursing career at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. She met her husband Larry while working in the Coronary Care Unit and they married at Duke Chapel in 1981. While living in Durham, she and Larry became devoted parents to Andrea and Ryan.
After moving to Richmond, Virginia to be near her family, she began working at Chippenham Medical Center in the SICU, the CCU, and Coronary Cath Lab. She left Chippenham and began working at Virginia Family Physicians to spend more time with her family. She retired from nursing in 2018.
Pam had a variety of interests including her love for her dogs, beach vacations, movie dates, and foremost time with her family. Pam and her husband were active members of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir and praise team, as well as playing the handbells. Pam also served as a deaconess for the church. For many years, she and Larry were members of the Church Bowling Team.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 24 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 9600 Midlothian Turnpike, North Chesterfield, Virginia 23235. A light reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Pam will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She was the life of the party!
