Patricia “Pat” Jones-Moss Scott
June 13, 1945 – Oct. 18, 2021
Patricia “Pat” Jones-Moss Scott, 76, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021, after a short battle with Cancer.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Linwood H. Scott; stepdaughters, Kimberly Dehlbom (Brent) and Malinda M. Scott; brother, David Jones. Mama Pat, as she was known by many, will also be dearly missed by all of the friends whose lives she touched profoundly.
Pat was preceded in death by her son, Robert Moss; and daughter, Kristy Scott.
Both Pat and her husband, Linwood, were born in Danville, VA, where they briefly dated as teenagers and then reunited later in life. Pat retired from the General District Court, Henrico County after serving 30 years.
We take comfort in knowing that Pat is loving on her children in heaven. She and Kristy are dancing in their rhinestone angel wings, and she is enjoying the beautiful sunsets settling over the Rappahannock River. “Why wish upon a star when you can pray to the One who created it!”
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Patricia Scott’s name to the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to thank Dee Shifflett and Mark Glass for their love and support these past few weeks during this difficult time. Their love and loyalty over the years is cherished.
Lin, I’m so ,so sorry for your loss! You & your family are in my prayers! She was a beautiful lady!
Our hearts are with you Linwood. She was a beautiful and wonderful friend. We loved her dearly! Pat has a special place in our hearts. Gone to soon. Prayers to you and your family!
I will never forget the wonderful time we had, you will always be a beautiful person inside and out!! Until we meet again!
Pat was a delight to work with for many years. She was always cheerful and concerned for other people. My thoughts and prayers are with Linwood and all the family.
Thank you for putting Pat’s obituary in the Danville paper. Her family lived across the street from my family on North Ave. She was older than me as this was the late 1950’s but she was the sweetest lady to me and such a beautiful girl! I have often wondered where she and David were and how they were doing. Praying for her family as I am sure you will miss her. She was and angle in my life and one from now on!
David lives in Georgia
Pat (with her husband Linwood) were neighbors of ours for years In Henrico County. When they moved to Hanover County, we kept up our friendship and shared many activities, visits, and meals together but those events were made so much better when we moved a quarter mile up the road from them. For another 6 years, we were able to name and claim them as Family when we moved to Covenant Woods.
I especially loved the sound of her voice and accent–she was the epitome of what a Southern Lady should sound like–that voice could tame any savage beast coming her way. We shall miss her so very much but we will continue to keep Linwood in our family and spend time with him as we did before.
