Patricia J. Wegman, 73, of North Chesterfield was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior Thursday, March 21, 2019 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Pat retired as a music teacher from Henrico County Public Schools. She was a member of West End Assembly of God and served in the choir where she was loved by many. Pat was a former member of Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her devoted and caring husband of over 50 years, Joe Wegman; two children, Sara McCotter (Doug) and Jimmy Wegman (Anna); four grandchildren whom she adored, Victor, Marley, Kaleigh and Brandon; her loving sister, Mary Jennings (Mike); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Vince.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294. A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, March 27, at West End Assembly of God. Interment will be in Westhampton Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to West End Assembly of God’s Music and Fine Arts Ministry.
Mrs. Wegman was one of my many “youth group moms” who always looked out for us. She loved us like our own mother and never hesitated to welcome us into her family’s home at a moment’s notice. The love she so effortlessly shared with us as children and teenagers reflected her love of Christ and will stay with me for years to come.
Our son Doug, Pat’s son-in-law, is very lucky to have had her as his mother-in-law; a very loving lady.
Pat has been a kind, loving and caring sister-in-law for over 50 years. She valiantly fought cancer for the last two years and has earned her angle wings in heaven. May she rest in peace. With all our love.
Otto and Betsy Wegman
I worked with Pat for many years at Longdale! Such a kind and caring lady! ❤️
It was my honor to follow Pat as Minister of Music at Ridge Baptist, and to have enjoyed a long relationship with Wegman family prior to that time. In many ways, I am a better person and minister because of Pat’s presence in my life; I believe we all are. Love and blessings.
I didn’t personally know Mrs. Wegman, but do know her husband and fellow Mason, Joe. My thought and praywrs to the Wegman family during this time of mourning.
I am so sorry to hear about Pat’s passing. She was always so welcoming and kind to me when I was around. Heaven has gained a truly beautiful soul. May she watch over you all. I am praying for comfort for you all during this time and in the days to come.

I knew Pat as our music teacher at Maybeury School as well as the parent of one of my favorite students, Sara. I loved her energy. My deepest sympathy to her family…a lovely woman.
The members of Henrico Retired School Personnel Association extend their condolences to the family of Pat Wegman and our appreciation for her many years of service to students and staff in our schools.
We are saddened by the news of Cousin Patsy’s passing. This week on our farm, we are welcoming newborn lambs into the world, a reminder of beautiful life reborn as Patsy’s beautiful life passes on. Our condolences to Joe and family at this difficult time. Richard, Jean Jake and Nina
Pat was my music colleague at Longdale Elementary. Pat always had an open door and heart and was ready to listen and help in any way that she could. May God continue to bless her in her new everlasting life. My heart and prayers are with you all.
