Patsy Darlene Aldred

November 18, 1947 – Novemrber 2,  2023

Patsy Darlene Aldred, 75, of Glen Allen, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Patsy was born in Fries, Va in 1947 to Walter and Dorothy Eller. The third of four children her childhood was lively and loving. She attended Fries School where she was a good student, cheerleader and basketball player. After graduation Patsy met her husband, Paul Aldred,  from the neighboring town of Galax. They were married in 1970 after Paul’s return from the Vietnam war. In 1976 they welcomed their first child. The small family then relocated to the Richmond, Va area in 1980 where they grew their family with the arrival of two more daughters. Patsy was a wonderful stay at home mom for many years before returning to school. She received her associate’s degree in Business Management from J. Sargent Reynolds Community College and then accepted a position at the United States Postal Service, where she would work for the next twenty years.

Patsy loved to travel, read, garden, swim, cook, and shop. She could always be found planning her next trip, working in her flower garden, cooking delicious meals, shopping at one of her favorite stores or engrossed in a good book. But what she loved the absolute most was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She always put her family first and we will deeply miss her sweet and fierce love.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Aldred; daughters Amber Aldred (Matthew Turner), Brandy Aldred and Crystal Aldred; sister, Faye Snow; grandchildren Jordan Aldred, Justice Parks, Jada Parks, Veda Turner and Van Turner; sister-in-law Lenore Eller; nieces, Tammy Tysinger and Sheila Haga. She was preceded in death by her parents Walt and Dot Eller; brother, Pat Eller; and sister, Shirley Hill.

A celebration of life service will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Satruday, November, 18  at Glen Allen Baptist Church. We’ll start the celebration with some words, memories and a slide show then move on to food and music. Feel free to wear bright colors as that is what Mom loved best! A future service will be held in Fries, Va (date to be determined).

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Judes Children’s Hospital.
