Paul R. Kelley Jr.
March 9, 1969 – January 20, 2021
Paul Richard Kelley, Jr, age 51, of Richmond, Virginia passed away on January 20, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held on January 30th at St Andrews United Methodist Church. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
Paul grew up in the Baltimore area and moved to Virginia in 1998. He was a free spirit who enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
Paul made an impression, good or bad, on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He was a very kind and giving person and would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was witty and a charismatic speaker who loved to tell stories about his life’s adventures.
Mr. Kelley is survived by his mother, Linda Jo Kelley; two sisters and their spouses, Kimberley Kelley and Todd Hahn and Shannon and William Carter; a niece Jessica McCreary; and nephew John McCreary.
Dearest brother, they say there is a reason; they say that time will heal. Neither time or reason will change the way I feel. Gone are the days we used to share, but in my heart you are always there. The gates of memories we’ll never close; I miss you more than anybody knows. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives until we meet again. Love you always and forever!
Such a great man I had the privilege of knowing him and working with you’ll be missed my friend R.I.P.
I am so glad I was given the opportunity to know you! My fellow warrior, I will continue to fight for those who can’t and your strength will forever be with me. Thank you for all the laughs, a true friend and fighter that I will never forget. Rest easy my friend.
I had the privilege of calling Paulie a friend for over 20 years. Early on in our friendship there was a difficult time in my life where I made some really bad choices; and Paul never hesitated to give me an ear full and let me know what he thought about it. Lol
But, once I got the help I needed…(Almost 18 years ago) he made it a point every single time we spoke or saw each other to tell me how proud he was of me, and I was finally the woman and mother I was meant to be! (However, he would also tell me that no one is as amazing as his Pearl, so I needed to step up my “Mom game” to be as wonderful as her! ?❤️).
I am sending all of my love and prayers to the family…you were his EVERYTHING. In the recent months he often shared that no matter what was going on in his life through the years (good or bad)…he knew that NOTHING would change his families love for him. Carry the love you had for each other in your heart, and know that he will be truly missed.
Truly one of my greatest friends. Paul taught me how to be myself no matter what, either your gonna love me or hate me in the end I’m still the same person. I’m gonna miss you my friend!!! Til we meet again Paul. Love ya brotha.
Love you brother. Always.
I will miss and cherish our friendship forever. Like you told me before you left…. I love you like family Paul, my fellow Baltomoron.
Paul by far one of the most Intelligent, witty, Sarcastic, real, hilarious people I’ve ever met. He was truly one of a kind. My life will never be the same without him here. He was always there in just the right time… To save me from myself. He was amazing like that. The world is definitely more damn place without him here. I can’t wait until the day we meet again and you know for sure how I really felt???? regret is so hard and that’s one thing you didn’t have in your life and that in itself is amazing. You’re a true role model and energy to be reckoned with. We we meet again… I will forever hold you in the heart. Like there’s a huge place that you belong.
