Phyllis Gertrude Holland Connock
Feb. 02, 1929 – Dec. 16, 2021
Phyllis Gertrude Holland Connock, of Chester, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on December 16, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren Connock. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wanda Midgette, Debbie Baker (Bob), Pam Thomas, and Shawn Connock; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Trudy was born on February 2, 1929, in Richmond, Virginia, daughter of the late Andrew Luther and Melissa Irene Holland. After graduating from John Marshall High School, she worked briefly in banking and during tax season while raising her family. She was active in the church, providing her children with a strong foundation in faith. Later in life she attended college earning her Associate’s Degree. Trudy was a lovely lady who had a beautiful spirit and loving heart. She greeted everyone as her friend, making lasting friendships throughout the years and keeping in touch despite the distance. Her family was her greatest joy – never missing her grandchildren’s school performances, cooking for large family gatherings, or spending time on the farm and traveling North America in the RV with her husband in their retirement years.
Trudy spent her final years, enjoying fellowship at The Village Grill in Chester, VA, playing Yahtzee, doing word search, and enjoying the company of her family and her cat, Sandy.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Affinity Funeral Home, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Institute. (Click here to donate to the American Cancer Society)

I will deeply miss this beautiful loving woman. She became a big part of my life over the last 15 yrs. She will always be in my heart ❤️
Ms. Trudy was a breath of fresh air. Her illuminating smile and positive spirt will always be remembered. She was a woman of great taste and style and always had a positive piece of advice to give about life. Whenever I would see here, no matter how long it had been,…..she would greet me with open arms. I pray for your strength and comfort. Hold on the to the wonderful memories and know that she left a positive mark everywhere that she went. Thinking of you. Love you all!
Trudy and Warren were such wonderful people and our neighbors in Summer Plains for many, many years. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Both were such loving individuals and so helpful when we first moved to the neighborhood. Caroline, their dog would come visit us and that’s how we became friends. They are both truly missed.
I will cherish each moment I had with this wonderful lady. Out of 14 years of employment where she visited, there’s only two people I call mom , becausemine has past, and she’s one of them. Always positive and caring. I will miss you (mom).
