Rhonda Malu Benson
September 17, 1957 – July 15, 2023
In loving memory, we honor the life of our dearly cherished Rhonda Malu Benson, who gently transitioned into eternal peace on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Henrico, Virginia.
Born in the bustling heart of Manhattan, New York on September 17, 1957, Rhonda’s vibrant spirit and unyielding love are carried forward through her children, Mercedes and Tosbe Benson, and the youthful joy of her grandson, Mekhi Tarrer. Rhonda, a longtime realtor, found her greatest joy and most treasured accomplishment in her role as a nurturing mother and fun-loving granny. Raised in the charming ambiance of Grand Rapids, Michigan, she cultivated a home overflowing with love in Richmond, Virginia. Her radiant smile and enchanting presence, which touched everyone who knew her, will be deeply missed.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Rhonda’s beautiful journey of life at a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA, where we will bid farewell to our beloved Rhonda, forever holding her spirit in our hearts.
I am heartbroken the loss of my dear cousin. We grew up. In the same household. With my Aunt and Uncle (Lucius & Mary Alyce Green). They adored her and lavished her with a very good upbringing,as well as my self. Those memories I will always cherish.
Rhonda was an amazing person. Loving, caring, and kind. This barely touches the surface. She made a lasting impact on my life. Everything about her will be truly missed. My condolences, love, and prayers go to her children and grandchild.
Rhonda was a special cousin to me. We will all miss her dearly . She changed my life for the better. I will always be grateful to her for giving me a chance to realize my potential. Gex and Bobby you are blessed to had her in your life, but she will always be in your heart. We love and miss you Rhonda. Rest in peace.
Rhonda was the first person I met when I came to Virginia and name sake. Put me into my first home here in Virginia and was a friend and became a companion on our walks in the park. Told me where to get my first haircut and I still go to that barber today. Very informative of Virginia and it’s culture for a first timer. She will and is truly missed.
My dear cousin Rhonda Malu!! You were always like a big sister that I never had. I enjoyed our time spent together, you helping me figure out part of my teen years and college time, shaped me in many ways. Gex and Bobby are strong, you raised them well, so don’t worry. Now all the Chips Ahoy are mine🫡
Love you!!
Rhonda Malu Benson will be deeply missed. I am so thankful that God placed her in my life. She was truly an angel. From the days of the Methodist in Grand Rapids, Mi. to her life abroad in Africa, Dubai, and her home in Virginia. She was always such an inspiration to me, encouraging me to always be my best. It was her kind and giving spirit that allowed me the opportunity to build my life here on the west coast! She was my confidant, my sister, my friend. She will truly be missed.
My Dear Rhonda,
You touched the lives of all who knew you with your kind heart and infectious laughter. Your passion for helping others will always be remembered. We have talked about how we will grow old and travel the world but I guess the good Lord called you home. Your memory will forever love on I my heart and be sure I will always be there for your kids.
Rest in peace and glory of the Lord!
🌹❤️Dearest Rhonda,🌹❤️
I don’t know what to write about your gentle and beautiful soul, but I will try my best.
When a wonderful soul like you goes back home, never to come visiting, never to be seen in person, we cry and all the things we start thinking we should have done when you were alive, becomes too late to do. I also fall in that category.
I know that you are in THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE, WITH YHWH, MOSTLY IN THE ARMS OF Y’SHUA. You have finally found that SHALOM you have always wanted.
You came into this world, you did your best, and ABBA YHWH SAID “IT IS TIME FOR” you to come HOME. I will always pray for your nephesh{soul}, children, and grandchildren in Y’SHUA’S NAME.
Now is time to rest in YHWH’S SHALOM. Shalom Shalom ❤️🌹
🌹❤️FOR PRINCE. MAXWELL BOBBY BENSON AND LATE BOBBY BENSON’S FAMILY🌹❤️
