Richard was most currently employed with Virginia ABC. A loving father, husband and friend to all who knew him, Richard was an avid reader especially of history and science and could speak at length on many subjects. He loved to tell stories and with his brilliant mind, vivid imagination and quick wit would weave wonderful tales to the listeners delight. Richard would always leave you laughing and happy to see or speak to him. A very hardworking man who served the Lord, Richard did his best in everything, brought joy to all who knew him, and always made you feel loved. He was a true southern gentleman. I loved the time I got to spend with Richard. He was fun loving and had a quick response to everything. I loved his southern accent. He will be missed so much by all of us here in Michigan.
Spending time with Richard always made me laugh. I’ll never forget going to Laddies when he was here visiting Michigan once, he was so much fun. He was an excellent story teller and I could never hold laugher back when it came to some of the things he said in that southern accent. He was a true gentleman, always giving a little kiss on the cheek upon arriving or leaving. Richard will be horribly missed. ❤️
No photo ever captured the real Richard as well as the one in his obit.
Pattie, I was shocked when I heard about Richard’s passing. I hired Richard at ABC and worked many years with him before he was promoted. I am truly at a loss for words and send my prayers and condolences to you and the family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you during this difficult time. You and I have spoke many times on the phone when I would call him. You have always been very polite and professional each time we spoke. I will keep and share many memories of Richard, as he and I enjoyed working together. RIP Richard, You will be Missed!
Patty, so sorry for your loss, sending prayers.
The children of Sumpter Priddy Jr reminisced about memories of the Carden family when we saw this sad post about Richard’s passing. Love to you all.
