Robert “Bobby” Nelson Stanley, 59, of Montpelier, VA, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Bobby was the beloved son of Bernice Fay Stanley of Beaverdam. Bobby was a landscaper by trade. He did not know a stranger and was a friend to everyone.
Survivors include his daughter Amber Cantrell (Eric); his son, Jeremy Stanley (Tammy); grandchildren Heather and Josie; brother Billy Stanley (Susan); and sister Lisa Cabe (Greg).
the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26 at Oak Grove Wesleyan Church 16360 Woodman Hall Rd, Montpelier, VA 23192. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be Private.

It is so hard to believe how the years have flown by, I still can’t get over the irony of you dying on your birthday. As I watched you laying in the bed I thought of Daddy and how happy he would have been the day he brought you home, tears of joy for his baby boy, now we have tears of sorrow for your passing. I pray you are resting in the peace and comfort of Jesus’ love.
He had helped me cut a few trees that were leaning the wrong way near my shed. He was a really nice person with an easy laugh or joke. I hope he has found peace.
Sorry for your family’s loss. He was such a sweet person. We had allot of fun growing up and attending school together. Prayers to you and all the family and sorry to read about his passing. RIP my friend.
