Robert E. Knabenshue, Jr.

February 28, 1965 – January 19, 2022

Robert E. Knabenshue, Jr., of Mechanicsville, Virginia, formerly of Masontown, PA, passed away on January 19, 2022, with his loved ones by his side.  He courageously battled cancer for almost 3 years.  He leaves behind his wife, Kathie; and his beautiful daughters, Faith and Grace.  He also leaves behind his mother, Darleen Knabenshue-Farmer (Alfred); and his siblings, Christine David (Arthur), Brenda Galie (Eric) and Michael Knabenshue.  Bob graduated from German Township High School in 1983.  He enjoyed playing football and baseball.  He also loved hunting and going fishing, especially with his Pap Bailey.  In later years, he became an avid fly fisherman and wanted nothing more than to be in the mountain streams.  He also had a passion for the Steelers.  He never missed a Steelers game. He served in the United States Air Force for 6 years. Afterwards he worked in the Radiology industry and later he worked as an independent insurance agent mainly in the senior market.  A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11am at Mechanicsville Christian Center, 8061 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville VA 23111.  A short visitation time will be held at 10 before the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Mechanicsville Christian Center Missions at https://MCCAG.org.
