Robert Lee Parrish

November 17, 1937 – April 21, 2023

Robert “Bob” Lee Parrish, 85, of Richmond, Virginia passed away peacefully on April 21, 2023, in his home with his wife by his side. He was born to the late Robert Wilson and Edith Lee Parrish on November 17, 1937, in Moline, Illinois.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert “Troy”.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katherine JoAnne; son, Rodney (Kelly, Audrey, Samantha, and Carson); daughter, Susanna “Susi” Armstrong (Mark, Kendall, and Austin); daughter-in-law, Melissa “Missy” Parrish Herbert (Conner and Lindsey); and son, Timothy “Timmy” (Kimberly, Riley, Chloe, and Logan).  He is also survived by his brother, Richard Parrish (Judy, Annie, Rachel, and Jason).

Growing up he was an accomplished wrestler on the Moline High School wrestling team.  After graduating high school, he served our country as a proud member of the U.S. Navy.  As a young man, he earned his brown belt in Judo.  He was a Master of Sales throughout his life. He always had an entrepreneurial mindset from starting a shredding company (Fredd Shredd), to restaurants and multiple other ventures. His hobbies included travel, fishing, working in the yard (especially his pond), and refinishing furniture.  And he always enjoyed spending time with his family.

We will receive family and friends for a visitation and celebration of Bob’s life anytime between 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday, April 28 at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA. A private service for the family will take place at a later date.

Have so many memories of good times in the Quad Cities with Uncle Bob. It was nice to see his sense of humor had not changed last time we visited. He will be missed.
    Love you all
