
Ronald Edward Lett
November 6, 1932 – September 16, 2021
Ronnie Lett, 88, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, Thursday, September 16, 2021, at home where he was cared for by Jeanie Lett and his family.
Born November 6, 1932, Ronnie was the son of the late, Walter Lett and Pearl Lett, of Richmond. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Ronnie is survived by his best friend, Jeanie Lett; four daughters, Patsy Riddle (Danny), Debbie Smotrys (Frank), Diane Lett Burns, and Renee “Sissy” McDaniel (Bryan); grandchildren, Michael Scearce, David Scearce, Curtis Smotrys (Katy), Zachary Burns (Jaime), Allison Burns, Madison McDaniel, Michelle McDaniel, and Julia Burns; many great and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Lett and Larry Lett; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was a loving father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Munich, Germany. He was a long-term employee at Auditorium Auto Parts and Pritchard Brothers, Inc. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and the Lawrence Welk show. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a collector of hats.
The family sends a special thank you to everyone who provided care for Ronnie over the past 2 years. We especially want to thank Cheryl and Debbie and the staff of Southeastern Home Healthcare Services of Mechanicsville, the BrightStar Care of East Richmond staff, and providers of VCU House Calls and Staff. Thank you all for collectively loving and caring for Ronnie. Also, we are very grateful for the services and care from the staff at the VA of Richmond.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 1 pm Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Affinity Funeral Service in Mechanicsville, VA. My deepest and most sincere condolences to you all. Ronnie was a good guy and will be missed by many. You are not alone in your grief. I have known all of you my entire life and consider all of you family.
