Roy Patterson, 76, of Henrico, VA passed away on September 26, 2023, in Richmond, VA.
Roy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nellie Patterson; his children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Wendy Merritt and her spouse, Steve Merritt of Candia, NH. Renee Hutchins, and her spouse, Dwight Hutchins of Hanover, VA. Tina Shea Patterson of Louisa, VA. Bonnie Harlow, and her spouse, Chris Harlow, of Louisa, VA. Miranda Patterson of Hanover, VA. Michael G. Patterson of Petersburg, VA; as well as his grandchildren, Krystal, Joe, Nathan, Liane, Jessica, Justin, Michael S., Kirsten, Mattie, and Sara. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward A. Patterson and Mattie L. Patterson; his sister, Sandra Bourgeois; brother-in-law, Richard Bourgeois; and his grandson, Colson Patterson.
Roy had a passion for the open road, whether in a tractor-trailer or on a motorcycle. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren as well as his canine companions alike. He was always ready with his cup of coffee, chocolate bar, and a dad joke.
A private gathering in his honor is being held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in Glen Allen, VA.
