Samuel Harold Spellman
March 24, 1962 – October 21, 2023
Samuel Harold Spellman, 62 of Richmond, VA passed away in Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Spellman; father, Samuel Spellman Sr; and sister, Judy Patterson of Brooklyn, New York. Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Ham-Spellman; one son, Sheldon Mackey (Weyketta); and one daughter, Regine Spellman (Malcom).
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Newbridge Baptist Church 5807 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond, VA 23223.
In lieu of flowers, the family request food donations for the repast.
It is with heavy heart that I read about Samuel’s Passing. My deepest condolences and prayers are with His wife and family. .
This man Sammy spellman A.K.A my poo always my big brother. Knowing him and loving his strength if you got a conversation it was all Good advice and real facts.cause he love for real and his wife forever his angel???

Cee and Family, I know that there are no words that will bring real comfort right now. But know that the pain your heart feels today will not always be there. Sam was a great man. I think of him often when I look at the furniture that Mike had him build for us and when remembering the good times spent together. May your memories bring some joy in the future. Ceil: I followed my heart to text you a photo of grandma (Mrs. Mackey Rockmus grandmother lol) and now I know that the Lord lead me to you His beloved daughter this morning. I did not know. I would’ve been there on behalf of our entire family because we couldn’t ask for a better man to raise Little Shelton.
God wants you to know that although today is your first day at home without friends and family. You will never be alone because the Lord is with you always! He sent me at 5am and we will keep sending people as a vessel of honor to comfort you, cook for you, comb your hair, cry with you, sleep in the bed with you, just be with you.
Sam was a stand up man who loved us and my cousin (Little Shelton) they say blood is thicker than mud, but Sam is the father that God designed for Lil Shelton and I am proud that I knew him.
I’m glad that God shined on you and you met a man who you could love, who loved you to build a solid foundation and a home.
You both beat the odds, the turbulence that can at times rock ? a marriage to its core – I know the stories but you had what you needed: God, Love, Commitment and Sacrifice.
I know those angels are loving on Sam right now. They probably watching the game!
