In Loving Memory of Sella Alice Barber Dallas
Sella was born on December 2, 1928 and passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Sella’s journey began in a small town in Germany, where she spent her formative years. At the age of 22, she came to America to marry Nat Barber, an American who was a military governor in Bavaria, in charge of reconstruction after the war.
In her 94 years, Sella achieved milestones that speak to her remarkable character. She was a devoted wife, first to Nat Barber, to whom she shared 51 years of love and partnership until his passing. Later in life, at the age of 80, she married George Dallas, who also preceded her in death. Her marriages were a testament to her ability to find joy and companionship in every stage of life.
Sella was a true athlete and golfer, boasting an impressive eight hole-in-ones during her golfing career. Those who played alongside her were sure to have a good time. Her athletic ability was just one example of her determination and competitive spirit.
Outside of the golf course, Sella was a talented knitter, creating beautiful garments and keepsakes that her family will treasure for generations. Her skilled hands brought warmth and love to every piece she crafted. She was also an excellent Bridge player which she especially enjoyed in her later years.
Many adored her and especially enjoyed her light hearted fun spirit. She was filled with love and often was the life of the party.
Sella is survived by her three beloved daughters, Petra Glover, Heidi McDonald, and Sabrina Hagan. Her legacy extends to five cherished grandchildren; and five adored great-grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud of.
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
