Sharon K. Edmondson

April 14, 1945 – November 28, 2023

Sharon K. Edmondson of Hanover County was born April 14, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones
on Tuesday, November 28, she was 78 years old.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia (Ginny) Williams; her beloved husband of 37 years, David Edmondson.

Surviving her is a loving family including her brother, Larry Williams; three sons Brian Martin (Kim), Victor Bowman (Carolyn), and Jeff Edmondson (Blake); a chosen daughter, Tracy Bell; three grandchildren, Jake Bowman, Jessica Bowman (Jacob), and Amanda Martin (Leeann); her close companion, Neil Ahner, for whom she cared deeply, and a wealth of extended family and friends.

Her father’s career with the U.S. Army provided the opportunity to travel the world through his various duty assignments and she was a proud graduate of Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan where she lived for three years. Eventually settling in the Hanover, VA area, Sharon held several professional positions but was most passionate about her work on child support reform with the Department of Social Services in her early career and as a caregiver for seniors in her later career, through which she formed lifelong friendships. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed tailgating at NASCAR events, listening to opera (specifically Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman), and loving her many pets.

Sharon’s love and light will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 10 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church 7046 Cold Harbor Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests be made to a local animal shelter in her name.
