
Sheridan Nathaniel “Heavy” Giles
July 17, 1947 – April 24, 2022
Sheridan Nathaniel “Heavy” Giles, 74, of Richmond, peacefully transitioned to his eternal home on Wednesday, April 24, 2022.
Affectionately known as “Heavy” to some. He loved jazz, music and baking sweets. Sheridan retired from McGuire Veterans Hospital with more than 35 years of service, ending as an Assistant Chief of Sterile Processing.
Sheridan was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Giles.
Survivors include his daughter, Assyra Giles; granddaughter Kalicia Graves; one sister Marian G. Young; two uncles Lawrence and Ralph Giles (Barbara); and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at Affinity Funeral Service 8074 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23111.

He has joined his Homey’s Joe and Leon just in time to through a spectacular BBQ. They await his arrival with some smooth jazz.
So sorry to hear this one, Giles & I worked together in Sterile Processing for many years. It’s hard to hear this when you often wonder where the person is or what they’ve been doing.
