Timothy Gerald Atkinson

November 4, 1959 – October 26, 2021

Timothy “Tim” Gerald Atkinson, 61, of Henrico, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Julie Pastore Atkinson; and their sons, Jerry, Sam (Elizabeth), and Ben; as well as three brothers, Jona, Ted, and Jeff (Lane); brothers-in-law, Michael (Teri), Matthew (Beth) Pastore; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Gerald W. and Dudley P. Atkinson. Tim was a loving father and dedicated worker and felt as if he were among family everywhere, especially at Arc 3 Gases, where he worked since 1990. As store manager, he cared for and respected every single customer and employee that walked through the door. Tim cherished his time coaching sports for his boys, brothers, brothers-in-law, and alongside his father-in-law, whether it was football or baseball. He was the ultimate family man and a wonderful, supportive friend who was loved by many people. More than anything, Tim adored his beloved wife of 37 years, Julie, and their boys. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. The celebration of Tim’s life will be held at Richmond Country Club on December 12, 2021, from 2 to 5 p.m., with a service beginning at 3 p.m.

I have been a customer of Arcet & then Arc3 for as long as Tim worked there. He always had a smile & gave me great service. I was very sorry to hear of his passing an send my condolences to his family, friends and co-workers. May he rest in peace.

I never really saw Tim outside of Arc3 (Arcet) but still considered him a friend. We shared stories of our family life , following the ups and downs of our kids over many years, and he was always engaged and kind. To his children and wife I would just say that he was proud of you all and you meant the world to him. I know you’ll miss him terribly. I will too.
