On Friday, November 24, 2023, our Aunt Tina Mae Smith passed away at the age of 70. She was born December 23, 1952, in Richmond, Virginia, to Curtis and Jeanette Smith, the younger of their two daughters. She was affectionately known as “Teen” by her older sister and “Auntie Tina” by her nieces and nephew.
Tina was an avid reader of the bible and spent much of her time writing scripture and spiritual songs. She was a kind spirit and took pride in taking care of the spiritual well-being of others. She was a devoted follower of Christ and believed wholeheartedly in her Christian faith.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Jeanette M. Smith; and her sister, Beatrice R. Ingram. She leaves to cherish her memory, two nieces, Michelle Newby (Shernard) and Cassandra McKay (Deontae); one nephew Jule C. Ingram III; four great-nieces Asia, Carmen, Aliyah and Iyanna; three great-nephews Shernard II, Shermar and Sherdari; and one brother-in-law Jule C. Ingram Jr. She also leaves to cherish her memory two devoted caretakers, Ms. Tracey Jones and Mrs. Hazel Lewis. Aunt Tina appreciated and loved you both.
A private interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, followed by a public memorial at a later date.
Aunt Tina will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit, love of God, and infectious laughter will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
