Walter Allen Ellis
Nov. 7, 1954 – Aug. 15, 2019
Walter Allen Ellis passed away on August 15, 2019 after a long illness. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Barbara; and loving rescue dogs, Charlie, Benny and Amber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginius Fravel Ellis and Walter Ellis Sr. Al grew up in Springfield, VA and attended Thomas Edison High School. He then attended JMU where he played football and studied business. Al began his work as a stockbroker immediately after college, and built a successful business in both the Richmond and Northern Neck areas. He adored the Washington Redskins, and spending time boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. Al maintained lifelong friendships, and took great pride in that. He was a special husband and friend that will be dearly missed. A private memorial service will be held in his honor.
Sending my sympathies as I heard of Allen’s passing. He spent many years playing football, wiffleball and basketball with “the youthful gang” of young men at the Burns’ home a couple of houses down the street on Beulah Road in Franconia, Va. A good friend indeed. Rest in the Lord’s peace.
