Walter B. Wood Jr.

Walter B “Chuck” Wood Jr., 78, Sandston VA, eternal rest on Sunday, January 1st, 2023.
Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Walter graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School. Walter retired after 30 years of service with Southern Railroad.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter B Wood Sr. and Loretha Wood; brothers Donald Wood and Leon Wood; and sisters Barbara Wood and Maraget Boyd.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bessie J Wood; his children, Juanita Simms, Bernard Wood (Jewel), Wayne Wright (Lisa); as well as three grandchildren, Oscar White, Thomas Simms Jr., and India Simms; sister Rose Abrams (Leon); and a host of nieces and nephews.
The celebration of life was held Friday, January 13, 2023. Services were private.
