William Calvin Carter

On November 28, 2021, William “Bill” Carter, Jr., loving husband, father, brother and friend passed away peacefully in Chesterfield, Virginia. Bill is survived by his loving wife Yong of 47 years, their sons Hasani and Brian, Grandchildren Trinity and Christian, his siblings Diane and Wayne, Brother-in-law Jose Negron, Daughter-in-law Shanida, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Wright and brother Fred Carter.
Bill was known as a generous, light-hearted and compassionate soul. He loved spending time with his family and friends and helping others. His commitment to service was evidenced in his decision to serve his country by working within the U.S. Army for over 47 years. He is a proud graduate of Trenton Central High School and St. Leo University. As many will attest, Bill was always someone who you could call upon for help or guidance.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends and will always be remembered in our hearts. We are sincerely grateful to the many friends who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss.

You will be sorely missed. You were truly a leader and protector of our family and went out of your way to take care of everyone around you. You set a high standard for yourself and others which inspired many of my life’s decisions to try more, do more and work harder. Your acts of kindness were unprompted and meaningful. You always did the right things at the right times. Many times unbeknownst to others. I will never forget the last day we shared together. Seeing you revel in joy as you reminisced on your pentagon career will live forever in my heart. Your smile, your light, will love forever in my heart.

Bill Carter will be missed by his Fort Lee Family. He was a great boss and treated us all as Family! Prayers lifted up to his wife and children.
Mr. Carter, I want to thank you for all you have done to instill in your children those values that attest to strength of character, which are portrayed in values so important to upholding ones convictions and seeking to be of service to others.
I have the pleasure of knowing your son Hasani, and they say the apple does not fall far from the tree. I can only imagine your influence on his life as time passed and you have much to be proud of .
I pass on my prayers for your next journey and know you will continue to watch over your family . God has called upon you and you are now at his side- a most precious place to be.
Bill was a great guy and loved by many. He was awesome to work for and with. Many prayers for comfort and peace to his many friends and family.

You were always so good to us kids that came by the house visiting your boys, you were a great man and good father. You took care of your family as a good man should. You will be greatly missed by many folks that have crossed your path. Heaven has a great one now and may god bless all of your family and help with the healing they need. For all reading this please rejoice in how good this man was and keep his family in your prayers.
