If you, or your spouse, are a veteran, we make all the necessary arrangements for you with the National Cemetery of your choice.
Honoring Veterans
We are committed to honoring the Veterans of our Armed Forces and their families with honor, dignity, compassion, and integrity.

Veterans Cemeteries
Affinity will coordinate all services and make the necessary arrangements with clergy, church, and cemetery officials at a local military cemetery:
- Fort Harrison National Cemetery
- Richmond National Cemetery
- Hebrew National Cemetery
Military Honors
We’re dedicated to helping military families through the process of obtaining government benefits for funerary services.
The National Defense Authorization Act (2000) provides every armed forces veteran and member the right to be buried with patriotic flourishes by a military honor guard.
Each eligible veteran will receive a basic military funeral honor ceremony at no cost to the family. This includes:
- Members of the military serving as pallbearers
- Folding and presentation of the United States burial flag
- Sounding of Taps
In some circumstances, a 21-gun salute (rifle volley) is included as well.

Veterans Resources
Here are some resources to help grieving family members of veterans:
The Department of Veterans Affairs Bereavement Counseling provides bereavement support to children, parents, and spouses of National Guard, reserve, or active-duty members who die while on military duty.
Vets4Warriors is a peer-support network that provides immediate and direct access to someone who understands the challenges faced by grieving family members.
AirCraft Casualty Emotional Support Services (ACCESS) helps family members who have lost a loved one in a private, commercial, or military aviation tragedy.
Open to Hope offers books, podcasts, television, and article bereavement support and will allow you to share your story to help others through the healing process.
